Simon Chen

I'm a consultant with Ramius Corporation. We're an Ottawa, Canada-based firm that designs and develops online social technologies. We're known for CommunityZero, an online community platform and we've just launched an alpha test for Sixent, a social networking platform.

I do a variety of things at Ramius but mostly, I help our customers do awesome things with our technology. I work with clients to design and  deploy practical virtual collaboration, online community and social networking solutions. This has included things like knowledge, customer and partner networks for organizations like the American Marketing Association, Compuware, the IEEE, Juniper Networks, NASA and SAP.

I love this stuff - how social computing technologies can help people connect and communicate to work, learn and innovate.  I'm influenced by Knowledge Management practitioners, Design thinkers and work done on Customer and User Experience.

I'm a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. I remain active with Alumni Western's Board of Directors and have served as President of its Ottawa Branch.

In my spare time, I like to try and travel more, take better pictures, ski tougher runs and hit a tennis ball around more often.
